Make your website readable for AI.
The site check verifies whether AI crawlers can read your site, how fast your homepage responds, whether there's a sitemap and which business information is readable. You also see which pages AI cites and which content gaps you have.
If AI can't read your site, it can't cite it.
AI models that search the web live, like ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, pull their answers from websites. If your site isn't one of them, they rely on what others write about you. Sometimes that's fine. Often it's outdated, incomplete, or written by a competitor.
The cause is usually technical and invisible. A robots.txt rule added years ago to stop scrapers also blocks GPTBot. A homepage that takes four seconds to load gets skipped. Business details that only live in an image can't be read by any AI model.
My Website checks your site on the points AI models use to understand and cite you, shows which of your pages already get cited, and where competitors own topics you're leaving open. Anything missing becomes an action with an explanation and ready-to-use code.
“Your website is the one source about your business you fully control.
Checked every night, and on demand in about ten seconds
The site check runs automatically every night, and you can rerun it any time with “Check my website.” Results are ready in about ten seconds. The check reads your site the way an AI crawler does, so it doesn't matter which CMS you use.
The result is an “AI-ready” checklist: AI crawlers allowed, llms.txt, sitemap in robots.txt, HTTPS, business details as schema, reviews as schema, an FAQ page with FAQPage schema, name, address and phone, an About page, title and description, language set, enough text on the homepage, and a load time under three seconds.
Every missing item links to its action. Once a later check finds the item in order, that action closes itself. The list stays accurate without anyone keeping track.
- Run a new site check with “Check my website” and see results in about ten seconds.
- Go through the “AI-ready” checklist: in order or missing, item by item.
- Click “view the action” on any missing item for the explanation and code.
- Browse the history of earlier checks.
Can GPTBot, ClaudeBot and the others read your site?
Every AI company runs its own crawlers. GeoReady checks five: GPTBot (ChatGPT training and knowledge), OAI-SearchBot (live search in ChatGPT), PerplexityBot (search and citations in Perplexity), Google-Extended (Gemini) and ClaudeBot (Claude). For each one, you see whether it's allowed, blocked or restricted.
We read your robots.txt the way the crawlers do: the most specific rule for a crawler wins, otherwise the general rule applies. That catches cases where a broad block shuts out AI crawlers by accident.
If a crawler is blocked, you get an action with the exact lines to add. You decide which crawlers to allow. GeoReady just shows you what's at stake.
- See whether each AI crawler is allowed, blocked or restricted.
- Learn which AI model each crawler belongs to.
- Copy the robots.txt lines from the action to let blocked crawlers in.
- Check whether your sitemap can be found from robots.txt.
Structured data, llms.txt and business info
AI models need to figure out quickly who you are, what you do and where. Structured data helps: JSON-LD with Organization or LocalBusiness, your name, address and phone number, and sameAs links to your profiles. An llms.txt is a short summary of your business written for AI models.
The check looks at whether these are in place and whether they say enough. A three-line llms.txt gets flagged as too thin. An Organization schema without links to your review profiles gets a sameAs action. The code in those actions is filled in from your business profile, so you don't have to write anything yourself.
Next to the technical check, My Website shows your business info as GeoReady knows it: description, industry, location, service area, services and alternate names. That profile drives how you're recognized in AI answers and which prompts we suggest, so keep it current.
- See whether your business details are readable as schema.
- Check llms.txt, FAQPage schema and reviews as schema.
- Edit your business info: description, services, service area and “also known as.”
- Track your homepage load time per check.
Which of your own pages AI cites
Every time an AI model links to your own domain, that page is logged. My Website shows which pages get cited, how often, by which AI models, for which prompts and when it last happened. You also see what share of all citations points to your own site.
That tells you what kind of content works. If your maintenance cost page keeps getting cited and your services page never does, you know how to build your next pages.
Cited pages are also checked for freshness. Pages over a year old, pages without a date or author, and pages with a title that names neither service nor location each get their own action. The pages AI already trusts are exactly the ones to keep current.
| Domain | Type | Citations | You |
|---|---|---|---|
| heatpumpcompass.com | comparison | 184 | missing → action |
| northfieldheatingair.com | own site | 96 | mentioned |
| hvacfinderguide.com | directory | 71 | missing → action |
| summitclimateco.com | competitor | 58 | missing → action |
| trustpilot.com | reviews | 41 | mentioned |
- See your most cited pages with citation count and last citation.
- See which AI models and prompts point to each page.
- Track your citation share: how many citations go to your own site.
- Get actions for cited pages that are outdated or missing a date and author.
Topics your competitors own and you don't
A content gap is a prompt where AI mentions other businesses but not you. My Website lists these gaps from the analysis after each measurement: the prompt, who gets mentioned and how often. Every gap is a concrete writing assignment.
Comparison questions that already name another business don't count as gaps, because you won't write a page about those. That keeps the list practical and focused on questions where a good page makes a real difference.
The strongest gaps come with an action: the prompt, the businesses mentioned there and an outline for the page. Content gaps per page are included in the Scale plan.
- Browse your content gaps: prompts where competitors get mentioned and you don't.
- See which businesses are mentioned for each gap.
- Open the matching action with an outline for the page.
- After publishing, track whether the prompt starts mentioning you.
How Technical GEO Audit works.
How one line in robots.txt made the difference
Perplexity almost never cited Northfield Heating & Air, even though its site had solid pages on heat pumps in Northern Virginia.
- 1Find the cause
The first site check showed PerplexityBot and GPTBot as blocked: an old “User-agent: * Disallow: /” rule meant for the staging site had made it to production. The site also had no llms.txt and no sitemap reference in robots.txt.
- 2Fix it with the code
The web developer copied the robots.txt rules and the llms.txt from the actions, already filled in with the services and service area from the business profile. Fifteen minutes and one “Check my website” later, the checklist was green.
- 3Watch citations come in
Within three weeks, Perplexity was citing the maintenance cost page for four prompts, and the citation share for Northfield's own site rose from 3% to 11%.
- 4The next gap
My Website then flagged a content gap: for “heat pump rebates Northern Virginia,” AI mentioned Summit Climate Co. and Redwood Home Services. That became the next page on the list.
Every number traces back to the exact prompts.

Another question? Email info@geoready.nl.Do I need to change my site?+
Usually a few lines in robots.txt and a few pages that answer the customer's question directly. The actions tell you exactly what.
Does this work with any CMS?+
Yes. We read your site the way AI does. Whatever system runs it doesn't matter.
